Tree Planter

Tree Planter is an application created for the Arbor Day Foundation to help restore our national forests.

With Tree Planter, you can either give your friends free gifts and help us create awareness for the challenges facing our national forests, or you can donate $1 to have your friend honored with an actual tree, planted in the earth, in a real forest. The non-profit Arbor Day Foundation will plant it in one of America's treasured forests - wherever it's needed most. So as we watch the virtual forest grow on Facebook, our living forests are growing too.

The reality is that our nation's forests are treasures. They provide wood for our homes, habitat for wildlife, clean air, and drinking water for millions of us. And they're being destroyed as never before - by disease, insects, and devastating fires.

What Is Facebook?

Facebook is a social networking website similar to Myspace that allows people to communicate and exchange information with their friends.

Facebook membership is free, and revenue is generated from advertising. Many people are drawn to Facebook in the hopes that they will receive less spam due to the higher restrictions placed on users. Users create profiles similar to Myspace profiles, including photos and personal information. Unlike Myspace, detailed profile information is restricted to users from the same network or confirmed friends.
